Tanah Lot Temple sits on a rock formation surrounded by sea. This 16th century temple is associated with Balinese mythology as one of seven temples that form a ring in southwest Bali, it is a popular attraction for its serenity and cultural significance. Going there during low tide allows visitors to walk to the temple. The poisonous sea snakes that dwell in little caves at the base of the rocky island are believed to guard the rock.
