A small island sorrounded by the sea would need a way to prevent an unwanted disaster. one of the ways is to plant mangrove trees as implemented in the Conservation Area for Mangrove and the Proboscis Monkey (KKMB) in Tarakan Island. KKMB is located in the center of Tarakan city was established in 2001 under the initiation of Tarakan Mayor at that time, in order to prserve mangrove ecosystem in Tarakan island. It was constructed with a big challenge. however gradually the expected result began to appear. KKMB is now the only mangrove conservation area located in the center of the city, which is equipped with board walk, gazebo, library and special animal health quarantine for the proboscis monkey.
