Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum (Malay: Muzium Samudera) in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia, showcases the region's maritime history. It was officially opened to the public by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on 13 June 1994, with phase one. Phase two of the museum, located in the old Guthrie building, was inaugurated by State Committee for Tourism, Culture, and Environment Chairman Poh Ah Tiam on 23 May 1998.

The museum's main feature is a replica of the Flor do Mar, measuring 34 meters high, 36 meters long, and 8 meters wide. It houses exhibits, artifacts, and documents from Malacca's golden era, illustrating the importance of political control over Malacca for maritime dominance in the region. The museum also displays the trading links of Malacca from early times through the colonial period to independence.

Location: Banda Hilir (± 3.5 km from Grand Swiss-Belhotel Melaka or approximately 9 minutes driving)
